I.MX

The Freescale i.MX range is a family of Freescale proprietary microcontrollers for multimedia applications based on ARM architecture processor cores. The i.MX range was previously known as the DragonBall MX family, the fifth generation of DragonBall microcontrollers.

*i.MXS (MC9328MXS) - 100 MHz ARM920T core.
*i.MXL (MC9328MXL) - 150-200 MHz ARM920T core.

MX2 Series

*i.MX21S (MC9328MX21S) - 266 MHz ARM926EJ-S core.
*i.MX21 (MC9328MX21) - 266-350 MHz ARM926EJ-S core + IPU (Image Processing Unit) + MPEG4 encoding accelerator.
*i.MX27L (MCIMX27L) - 266-400 MHz ARM926EJ-S core.
*i.MX27 (MCIMX27) - 266-400 MHz ARM926EJ-S core + IPU (Image Processing Unit) + H.263/H.264/MPEG4 encoding accelerator.

MX3 Series

*i.MX31L (MCIMX31L) - 400-532 MHz ARM1136JF-S core + VFP11 numeric coprocessor + IPU (Image Processing Unit) + H.263/MPEG4 encoding accelerator.
*i.MX31 (MCIMX31) - 400-532 MHz ARM1136JF-S core + VFP11 numeric coprocessor + IPU (Image Processing Unit) + H.263/MPEG4 encoding accelerator + ARM MBX R-S graphics accelerator.
*i.MX37 (MCIMX37) - 532 MHz ARM1176JZF-S core + VFP numeric coprocessor + IPU (Image Processing Unit) + H.264/VC-1/MPEG-2/MPEG-4 video decoders
