IPsphere Forum

IPsphere Forum

The IPsphere Forum is an international non-profit consortium of network equipment manufacturers, IT companies and communications service providers. It was established in 2005 with the charter of developing an open multi-stakeholder web-services framework for the rapid creation and automated deployment of IP-based services.

The Forum posits that an automated framework is required for federating the resources of multiple service stakeholders–such as content providers and network operators–into end-to-end services. This framework also proposes that each participant in the service offering is recompensed for their contribution.

The IPsphere Forum sets priorities for and oversees internal Working Groups that are tasked with developing the IPsphere Framework’s associated computing, networking and business standards and protocols. The IPsphere Forum has also announced liaison agreements with industry consortia working on related issues, including the IP/MPLS Forum ( [http://www.ipmplsforum.org] ), the MultiService Forum ( [http://www.msforum.org] ) and the TeleManagement Forum ( [http://www.tmforum.org/browse.aspx] ).
