Gambian legislative election, 1951

Legislative elections were held in the Gambia in 1951. They were the first election to feature political parties, [Gregg, E. (2003) [http://books.google.com/books?id=FjteEhM_MFAC&pg=PA238&dq=gambia+election+1960&lr=&as_brr=3&sig=qO5dSKNLo0lL9byZMP7AtweR9Ho#PPA237,M1 The Rough Guide to the Gambia] ] as the Democratic Party and the Muslim Congress Party had been founded earlier in the year.

Results

There were only three elected seats in the Legislative Council at the time.
