John Paris Jr.

John Paris Jr.

John Paris, Jr. is the first Black person to coach a pro hockey team, when he coached the Atlanta Knights of the International Hockey League. His team won the Turner Cup championship in 1994.

A native of Windsor, Nova Scotia is currently the head coach/general manager of the Restigouche Tigers of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League since the summer of 2006.
