Art Interview - International Online Artist Competition

Art Interview - International Online Artist Competition

The Art Interview - International Online Artist Competition is a quarterly international art award.

Since its inception in 2004, the award has been given to many artists who have become known to the general public for the first time. It has, however, also been awarded to established artists such as Tim Tate "http://www.thefrasergallery.com/artist-timtate-res.html "Tim Tate resume - The Fraser Gallery", ] , and Marcus Antonius Jansen, whose works can be found in museums and other collections. In addition to cash awards, winners of the prize receive a published interview with the sponsoring online magazine (art-interview.com, which publishes new issues at irregular, unpredictable intervals) and long-term publication of their winning artwork. Although the competition prospectus also promises an annual brick-and-mortar exhibition to the winning entries, no award exhibition has yet taken place in 2008 (prior exhibits took place in 2006 and 2007), and none has been announced for the remainder of the year. It is unclear whether this benefit has been suspended, and, if so, why it continues to be listed in the prospectus.

The current issue of art-interview.com (Issue 9) has not been changed or updated in several months (as of late August, 2008), which suggests that the publication is facing difficulties.Fact|date=January 2008
