Kuala Lumpur FA season 2007-08

Kuala Lumpur FA season 2007-08

Kuala Lumpur will compete in the Malaysia Premier League, Malaysia FA Cup, and should they qualify, the season-ending Malaysia Cup in season 2007-08. A new slate of office bearers took over KLFA after its elections in late 2007 and installed German coach Jurgen Gede in place of the long-serving Mat Zan Mat Aris for the new season.

Gede was off to a troubled start when much sought after Liberian striker Frank Seator, who previously played for Perak FA, signed for derby rivals Selangor FA instead after attending pre-season training with Kuala Lumpur FA.

The German coach did not last long however, parting ways with the team in March after Kuala Lumpur FA were eliminated in the second round of the Malaysia FA Cup.

Trouble had been brewing within the Kuala Lumpur FA camp with unpaid players' salary remaining a sore issue leading to disharmony and backbiting among players and officials as reported by the Malay Mail on March 25, 2008.

Kuala Lumpur FA were also deprived of the services of last season's skipper Reeshafiq Alwi, who followed Mat Zan Mat Aris to KL PLUS FC and had to blood in several newcomers for this season. __TOC__
