The University’s primary mission is to ensure an overall development of the student’s faculties through creating an ambience of healthy academic pursuit for the improvement of a student’s individual competence to perfection. Along with it, the university takes upon itself the task of arousing and cultivating individual sensitivity towards social responsibilities. In the sphere of career- building and job- opportunities, students are, thus, organized and trained to grow at the university a nerve-center for the generation of job-opportunities, and also diversifying them in the best interest of the society on a large scale. This kind of role model that Thamar University has adopted for itself is characteristically contrary to the common place practice of job-search as the bottom line of the pursuance of university- education.

As a vital organ of the socio-economic development, Thamar University dedicates itself to the task of creating an intellectual culture so that the students in general are able to attain here a remarkably high level of knowledge, enlightenment, and professional skills in all areas of study and research, e.g. humanities, arts, and social science in one stream, and pure sciences, medicine, technology, agriculture, dentistry, veterinary medicine, etc. in the other. Instilling into the students a higher vision of life is what Thamar University stands committed to by means of creating an ethos for a high standard of teaching and exemplary academic discipline.
