Bittman "Bimbo" Rivas was a Puerto Rican Community Activist, Director, Poet, Actor, Playwright and Teacher. He was born November 11, 1939 and died May 21, 1992. He gave the Lower East Side the name "Loisaida"Fact|date=December 2007}. He served in the Air Force of the U.S.A.
