Trinidad and Tobago general election, 1981

General elections were held in Trinidad and Tobago in 1981. The result was a resounding victory for the People's National Movement, which won over 50% of the vote and 26 of the 36 seats in the House of Representatives. George Chambers, who had taken over as Prime Minister following the death of Eric Williams in March 1981, was re-appointed to the post.
