Gordi (Serbian Cyrillic: Горди; trans. "Dignified Ones") were a former Yugoslav heavy metal band.

Band history

The band was formed in November 1977 by guitarist Zlatko Manojlović, a former Džentlmeni, Fleš and Dah member. The first lineup of the band also featured Stevan Milutinović (drums), a former Dogovor iz 1804, Moira and Dah member, Zlatko Manojlović's brother Goran Manojlović (keyboard), a former Dah and Land member, and Dragan Janković (bass guitar), a former Buket Mojih Prijatelja member. On their five studio albums Manojlović is a complete songwriter. Although only their last two studio albums "Pakleni trio" ("Hell trio") and "Kraljica smrti" ("Queen of death") were truly heavy metal oriented, these are the albums for which Gordi are generally most remembered. In 1979 the band won the first place at the international rock festival in Poznań. The band disbanded in 1984 after Manojlović released his first solo album "Zlatko".
