Randy Pijoan

Randy Pijoan is an American painter living in Northern New Mexico. Randy is known for his urban night and day-scape paintings, as well as his contemporary take on landscape paintings of the American Southwest. The artist works primarily in oils and gouache.

Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Randy started painting early in life. His creative roots extend from the inspirational achievements of his family: from his great grandfather Art Historian, Jose Pijoan; his grandfather New Mexico painter, Michael Pijoan; his aunt author, Teresa Pijoan; and his great-aunt, artist, Irene Pijoan. Randy has also served as Artistic Director for various theater, performance art, and motion picture productions. Randy's ability to render into painting America's contemporary landscape recently won him a published museum show in Scottsdale, Arizona recognizing his talents as the country's premier urban nightscape painter. His work has been featured in the following National magazines "American Artist Magazine", "American Art Collector", "Four Corners Magazine", "Southwest Art Magazine", and in "International Artist Magazine".

Currently, he works on large-scale landscapes for private and corporate commission, that include- Denver-based Invesco; Pinnacle Assurance Corporation; Chicago's North Bridge/Nordstrom; and Lockheed Martin in Denver to name a few. Pijoan's paintings are shown at galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Denver and Boulder, Colorado; Scottsdale, Arizona; Chicago, Illinois; and Wilmington, North Carolina. Pijoan is recognized for starting an art movement known as Phrasism that deals with new perspectives in compositional drama in realist paintings. He also founded the nonprofit Ventero Open Press, located in San Luis, Colorado, which raises money for local public school art programs.
