Charles R Field

Sergeant Charles R. Field was part of the Essex Regiment and was a stretcher bearer throughout the First World War. He was at first given the rank of Lance Corporal until later being raised to Sergeant. He survived the War until he was shelled on the 22 April 1917. He was killed whilst helping casualties in 'No Mans Land'.

Military Medal
