Samiu Kaufusi Vahafolau (born 24 April 1978) is Tongan rugby union footballer. He plays for Biarritz Olympique club and Tonga national team. His usual position is Number 8. He did not play the 2007 Rugby World Cup for Tonga.

He originates from the Island of 'Ovaka, the southernmost island of the Vava'u Group (Province) in the Kingdom of Tonga. He was born and raised in his home island, till he migrated with his family to New Zealand in 1991.

His father's name is Finau "Falusi" Vahafolau of Ovaka Island, although born in Noapapu Island. Like father like son, Finau was a well-known local player of the Vava'u Group in the sixties. Samiu's father is very much proud of his son's achievements.

Samiu has played in Japan and is now contracted in France.
