Jamaican Maroons in Sierra Leone

In 1800, 600 Jamaican Maroons travelling on the Asia arrived in Sierra Leone. These Maroons were all from Trelawny Town, Jamaica one of five Maroon towns in Jamaica. This group of Maroons had been deported to Nova Scotia by British forces after there had been fighting between the two nations.
