Har Mar Mall is a regional, enclosed shopping mall located in the city of Roseville, Minnesota, a suburb of Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. Built in 1961 and expanded several times since, it is one of two malls serving Roseville (the other being Rosedale Center). As of 2008, Har Mar Mall is largely composed of big box retail, including HomeGoods, Marshalls, Cub Foods, Barnes & Noble and Michaels as anchor stores.

History

Har Mar Mall all was built in 1961, deriving its name from its owners, Harold and Marie Slawik. Twin Cities architect Willard Thorson, who also designed Apache Plaza in nearby St. Anthony, designed the mall. In 1971, the mall was expanded. The mall got another renovation after being heavily damaged in a tornado on 14 June, 1981 [ [http://climate.umn.edu/doc/journal/tornado19810614.htm 25th Anniversary of the June 14, 1981 Har Mar Tornado ] ] .

Until the mid-1990s, Har Mar was in serious decline, losing stores and foot traffic. However, it has since become viable once more, gaining new tenants such as Barnes & Noble, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Dress Barn. The mall's two movie theater complexes closed in late 2006, as new theaters opened up at Rosedale Center. However, soon to move into the space previously filled by the larger movie theater complex is Staples Inc.
