Interventional pain treatments

Interventional pain treatments

Interventional pain treatments are treatments that are intended to reduce or get rid of a patient's pain altogether, rather than simply managing it. Those who practice in interventional pain therapy do not subscribe to the statement patients are often given by some physicians regarding pain, :"Just learn to live with it." Interventional pain specialists differ somewhat from pain management specialists who focus more on teaching a patient to live with pain, often with the help of medicines, physical therapy, etc. Some of the same tools as those used in interventional pain treatment as well. Still pain management makes the assumption by its very title too that the pain always will be there. The World Institute of Pain, for instance, is geared more towards interventional treatments.
