Sahu

Sahu (Hindi साहू) is an Indian surname belonging to the Vaishya caste.

"Sahu" is known as the Teli caste of India and known as Sahu Vaishyas. Teli (तेली) is a business caste among Hindus. They bear different surnames in different regions and states of India such as Sahu/Sahoo, Shah, Shaw, Prasad, Gupta, Gandhi, Modi, Rathore, Vaniyar, Ghanchi, Mandal, Saha, Gorai, Samani, Sadhu-Khan, Das, Kubara/Kubera, Talakar, TeliLingayat, Gandla, Telikula, Devathilakula, Teli Sahu, Teli Rathod, Ganiga, Bahaldia, Teli, Ghanchi (Gujarati speaking) and Sethi (Punjabi speaking).
