"Cellana strigilis oliveri" is a subspecies of large limpet, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Patellidae, one of the families of true limpets.

Distribution

This subspecies is endemic to New Zealand's Bounty Islands.

hell description

The shell is of moderate size, narrowly ovate, with the nucleus very near to the anterior end at all stages of growth, varying between one tenth and one twenty-seventh from the anterior end.

Coloration of the exterior is bluish-white, heavily blotched with light-brown, in the form of irregular broad radial streaks that frequently , leaving elongated patches of the pale ground colour. The interior is pale amber, with the dark-brown external pattern showing through.

Length is up to 57.5 mm, width up to 45 mm, and height 20 mm.
