The Charlton School is a Science College in Telford, Shropshire, England. It is consistently among the best performing comprehensive schools in the Telford & Wrekin Local Education Authority.

The Charlton is a successfulFact|date=January 2008 secondary school in the Telford and Wrekin area. It has a wide range of subjects available to take for GCSE although relations between staff and pupils has been criticised in recent Ofsted reports. Fact|date=January 2008. In 2005 the former head teacher, Kay Cheshire, left to teach in a school in Liverpool and was replaced by Gwen Kelsey, formerly the deputy head.

Background

Founded in the 1960s, the school was originally an all girls school. The school's catchment area includes the small towns surrounding it like Wellington and Bratton. The many head teachers it has had have been successful and enjoyed working at the schoolFact|date=January 2008. In 2005 a sports hall was built and in the following year the school was officially opened as a Science College.
