Numedeon Inc. is a Privately held, Pasadena, California Based, virtual world creator. They are widely known for creating "Whyville" the online world for 9-15 year olds, which features "N.I.C.E." The Numedeon Interactive Community Engine.

Whyville claims to have over 3 million users however, Whyville has not released actual statistics about active members. Numedeon has created several different websites. Whyville, run on N.I.C.E., the above mentioned software that "Runs on a standard web browser, and can be run on a 56K modem.[1]" according the Numedeon Website.
