Grandhi Venkata Reddy Naidu

Grandhi Venkata Reddy Naidu was born in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh, in one of the most influential political families in the State.Fact|date=September 2008 An attorney by training and education, Venkata Reddy Naidu chose to spend his early years in the Indian Freedom Movement and worked hard to uplift the living conditions of people in his province. For the services he renedered to the people of Narsapur, he is still remembered with love and respect.

While practicing law for more than two decades, Mr. Naidu held various leadership positions in the West Godavari District administration. He was subsequently elected to the Legislative Council before India's Independence. After India's independence in 1947, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly and after the formation of the State of Andhra Pradesh in 1951, he was appointed the first Minister of Law and Endowments by Chief Minister Sanjeeva Reddy.

Education

Grandhi Venkata Reddy Naidu was educated in the famous Madras University and received a B.A., L.L.B. degree.

Family

Grandhi Venkata Reddy Naidu was married to Grandhi Venkata Lakshmi (after whom the family mansion was named) and the couple had four sons and a daughter.

Grandhi Kesava Rama Murthy, who was born on December 9, 1927, was the oldest child and remained in the family mansion 'Venkata Lakshmi Bhavan' until his death in 2001. Kesava Rama Murthy, also educated at the Madras University, received his B.A., L.L.B. degree and practised law for over 50 years in Narsapur. Kesava Rama Murthy celebrated a Golden Jubilee for his 50+ years of practice as a leading advocate at bar.

Kesava Rama Murthy's son is now a Judge of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. His Lordship Justice Grandhi Bhavani Prasad was educated in the famous Loyola College and received his B.S.C., L.L.B. degrees from Andhra University. Grandhi Venkata Narasimha Rao, Venkata Reddy Naidu's youngest son, a lawyer, served as the Registrar of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, before his retirement.
