"High Life " is the second album by Frankie Miller.

With Chrysalis Records willing to speculate in matching up Miller's vocal talents with hitmaking talent, they commissioned Miller's second album to be produced by Allen Toussaint who also composed seven songs on the album. Toussaint's production style lends itself well to the voice described as the best since Otis Redding. The songs; "Play Something Sweet (Brickyard Blues)" was covered by Three Dog Night and "Shoo Rah" was covered by Betty Wright, both were hits which was somewhat galling for Miller that two of the tracks were hits for other artists.

Despite poor sales, the album was critically well received, although Miller was to disown it as Chrysalis Records had decided on a remix, without Miller's or Toussaint's knowledge or consent, to keep in-line with the then current trends.
