Medicine is an alternative noise-pop/rock band from the San Fernando Valley, United States. They were formed in 1991 by guitarist Brad Laner (born November 6, 1966)[1][2] and signed to Rick Rubin's American Recordings label the following year. With a signature guitar tone, created by running guitarist's Brad Laner's guitar through a Yamaha 4-track recorder, Medicine's music managed to distinguish itself from some of the more ambiguous endeavours of the shoegazing movement.

Billy Corgan from The Smashing Pumpkins remixed "She Knows Everything" from Medicine's The Buried Life in 1994, also adding Jimmy Chamberlin's drums to the mix.

The band broke up in 1995 and reformed as a duo in 2003.
