Bisera Turković

Dr. Bisera Turković (born December 8, 1954) is a highly influential Bosnian politician. She was the first bilateral Ambassador appointed in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is currently the Bosnian Ambassador to the United States. She was appointed Ambassador to the United States in October 2005. She holds a degree in Law and a degree in Criminal Justice Administration. She did her post graduate studies in Criminology and holds a PhD in International Relations.

Ambassador

Her first posts as Ambassador were to Croatia (1993-1994), Hungary (1994-1996), and at Bosnia and Herzegovina's Permanent Mission to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in Vienna (1996 to 2000) as well as to Bosnia and Herzegovina's Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Vienna (2004 to 2005).

Ministry of European Integration

From 2000 to 2001, Dr. Bisera Turkovic worked as the Minister for European Integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

ecurity Policy

Dr. Bisera Turkovic was Executive Director of the "Centre for Security Studies" in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 2001 to 2004.
