Fetene Dichma

Fetene Dichma, better known as Little Bohio, DJ Walka Walk, DJ Feti, Rocne, or just Dichma, is an urban entrepreneur. His birth was initually disputed by Chicago officials because it was thought that he was born in the Dominican Republic and brought to Chicago by his mother immediately after birth, but the dispute was later resolved and a birth certificate was issued. Even though he was nicknamed "Feti" by his grandmother and "Little Bohio" by his father, it was during a grade school transfer that everyone realized the name he was using as a child was not the same name on his birth certificate (which he later legally corrected).

Biography

Early life

Fetene was born in Chicago, Illinois while his mother was on vacation visiting friends. Born to an African-American mother (name has purposefully been withheld) and Dominican father (name has also purposefully been withheld), Fetene spent the early part of his childhood living in the Washington Heights area of Manhattan, NY. In 1986, Fetene's father was arrested by New York police and falsely charged with operating a large scale cocaine ring in Queens and Washington Heights. After the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence, Fetene's father left the United States and returned to the Dominican Republic. Two month after his father left the country, Fetene's mother's body was found inside of an abandoned building in Brooklyn. After an investigation was conducted by authorities, the evidence and witness reports were deemed inconclusive, and no one was ever charged for the murder.

For months after the murder, it was rumored by many residents in Washington Heights and Brooklyn that a Washington Heights police officer, and Brian F. O'Regan, a Brooklyn narcotics officer, had shot and strangled her to death in Manhattan, then had her body transported and dumped in Brooklyn. According to many residents, this was done out of frustration by the officers in not being able to convict Fetene's father, whom they had repeatedly attempted and failed to convict on cocaine smuggling. After the murder of Fetene's mother, Officer O'Regan and 12 other officers were indicted on murder (but not of the murder of Fetene's mother), theft, and traffiking charges. Later that year, both officers were reported missing. Officer O'Regan was found dead in Staten Island, from an apparent suicide. The other officer was never found.

Believing that law enforcement might go after Fetene, Fetene's father sent him out of the country to live with friends in Amsterdam and Germany. During this time, Fetene lived in numerous European and American cities, including several years back in Chicago and New York to attend high-school. While living in New York, Fetene became interested in the Hip Hop movement that was beginning to flourish within the boroughs of New York.

Hip Hop

Fetene began making an underground name for himself in Chicago, New York, and Frankfurt, Germany as graffiti artist "Rocne".

At age 16, with advice and guidance from an already club circuit legend, DJ Boogie, Fetene began DJing for local High School and community events. After only 6 months of Djing, Fetene (Known as DJ Walka Walk during that time because of his inability to play basketball without traveling) won several underground DJ competitions in Germany, including the "Blend Master" competition and the "Slow Cut DJ" trophy. At age 17, Fetene began DJing the American club circuit in Germany, mainly the "Coleman Club" and "Alcazar Club" in Mannheim, and the "Rainbow Club" in Darmstadt.

Business

In 1996, after returning from a visit to his father in the Dominican Republic, Fetene decided to use his knowledge of computers to start a company programming websites. The company he started, iCash.com, was defunct within 10 months, because though he knew a lot about computers and computer networks, he knew nothing about business. This lack of business acumen led Fetene to begin teaching himself about business and marketing.

The training paid off when Fetene began receiving prestigious awards while working on several American technology contracts in Germany. After years of managing technology for several Federal and Defense agencies, Fetene had received over 35 awards from these entities, including nominations for Federal Employee of the Year.

In 2003, after years of working with friends in Germany on several projects, Fetene, Sophie Schmitt, and Tomas Friedburg formed the technology company YAPP, INC. This company handled several technology contracts and included a small underground fashion brand, directed by Fetene.

Fashion

During the formation of YAPP, Fetene was always thinking about his love for the urban lifestyle, and wanted to continue contributing his input. This led him to create the ISYL fashion brand in 2004. This also prompted him to have the company back a small growing group of fashion insiders within the city of Chicago called the "Chicago Fashion Industry (CFI)". Beginning in 2005, the small fashion brand started by Fetene began getting noticed by numerous entities, including Hot Import Nights and numerous European fashion show promoters.
