Yellomundee Regional Park

Yellomundee Regional Park

Yellomundee Regional Park is situated on the eastern escarpment of the Blue Mountains, part of the Great Escarpment formed by the orogeny that created the Great Dividing Range, north-west of Penrith. It stretches 8.6 kilometres in a north-south direction from Yarramundi to Mount Riverview and Emu Heights. It contains a mountain bike and hiking track, and several lookouts. It is west of the Nepean River, overlooking and for a good length touching it.

Yellomundee Regional Park is distinct in that only about one fifth of the land has been modified and it contains large areas of natural bushland as well as cultural and historical sites. The park protects areas of alluvial and riverine plant communities. [ [http://www3.environment.nsw.gov.au/parks.nsf/ParkContent/N0640?OpenDocument&Parkkey=N0640&Type=XO Yellomundee Regional Park ] ]
