Wethersfield, Connecticut that was the site of a five day military conference during theAmerican Revolutionary War . GeneralGeorge Washington came to Wethersfield in order to plan with Rochambeau, the French commander. These plans led to theSiege of Yorktown , the last major battle of the war. Washington, in his words, "lodged...at the house of Joseph Webb", on the May 17, 1781.
