French ship Astrolabe

Three French ships have born the name "Astrolabe", after the instrument astrolabe and in honour of the preceding ships:
* The "Astrolabe" of Jean-François de Galaup, comte de La Pérouse (1781), a converted fluyt
* The "Astrolabe" of Jules Dumont d'Urville (1817), a converted horse carrying fluyt
* The "Astrolabe" (1986), an icebreaker built as "Fort Resolution" and renamed in 1988. [http://www.chez.com/philateliemarine/astrolabe.htm]
