Bill Deal & the Rhondels were formed in 1965 in Virginia Beach, crossing blue-eyed soul, Beach music and Horn rock. They had 3 hits in 1969, "I've Been Hurt" (U.S. #35), "What Kind Of Fool Do You Think I Am" (U.S. #23) & "May I" (U.S. #39). [Joel Whitburn, "The Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits". 7th edn, 2000]
