Wordly Wise

This series of books ranges from grades 2 to 12, and does not have reading passages like Wordly Wise 3000. Each section of vocabulary has about 15 words in one, and consists of four subsections to practice using the featured vocabulary. The first subsection is a battery of multiple-choice questions, with a phrase containing a vocabulary word and answers telling what the word means in the context. The second consists of multiple-choice questions with sentences, and the goal is to find the sentence using a vocabulary word in the wrong manner. The third subsection has a series of sentences with selected phrases within them, with lines below each sentence so the student can rewrite the sentences so the phrases are replaced with the correct vocabulary used in the section. The fourth and last one is made up of a puzzle, in which the student has to fill in blanks with words and make a column of them to create another word. The students have to follow the hints next to each blank. Some of these words can also occur from previous lists. After about three sections of vocabulary, there is a crossword puzzle using all of the vocabulary words learned in the chapter. Occasionally in 4th subsections and the crossword puzzles, words from past sections have to be used.:*Wordly Wise (1 through 10)
