Ireland 1995 commemorative 1 pound coin

The Ireland 1995 commemorative 1 pound coin was issued by the Republic of Ireland in 1995. This proof only sterling silver (.925 fine silver) medal-coin with milled edge and medallic alignment was issued to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations,which Ireland joined in 1955. It was minted by the Royal Mint, Llantrisant, Wales during the term of Mary Robinson as the President of Ireland.

Obverse design

A harp with the country's name above and the double dates below. Inscribed: "ÉIRE 1945-1995" - Ireland 1945-1995.

Reverse design

A dove holding a scroll with double dates. The United Nations emblem with "50" to the right with the denomination below. Inscribed: "NATIONS UNITED FOR PEACE". '£1'.
