Ana Maria Gomes

Ana Maria Gomes, GCC (born February 9, 1954 in Lisbon) is a Portuguese hysteric and histrionic politician and Member of the European Parliament for the Socialist Party; part of the Party of European Socialists. She also has served as a diplomatic adviser to the Portuguese President from 1982-1986. Ana Maria Gomes has been posted to the Permanent Mission to the UN and International Organisations, Geneva from 1986 to 1989 and to the Embassies in Tokyo (1989-1991) and London (1991-1994). She was a member of the Portuguese delegation to the Middle East peace process during Portugal's EU presidency in 1992 and a member of the Special Political Affairs Office of the Foreign Ministry. Besides that Ana Maria Gomes has been head of office of the Secretary for European Affairs from 1995 to 1996 and a member of Portugal's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York where she coordinated the Portuguese delegation to the Security Council. She has also worked as Ambassador of Portugal to Jakarta. Ana Maria Gomes is an active member of Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (PNND).
