Daniel Peter Roche (pronounced ROW-sh (IPA ˈroʊʃ)[1], born 14 October 1999) is an English child actor. He is best known for playing Ben in the BBC One sitcom Outnumbered.[2]

Life

Roche is the son of Judith (née Haines) and rugby journalist Anthony "Tony" Roche, and attended the Susi Earnshaw Theatre School.,[3][4] before moving on to Hampstead-based private school University College School.

Career

As well as his appearances in Outnumbered, for which he was nominated for 'Best Male Newcomer' at the 2009 British Comedy Awards for his role as Ben, Roche has also appeared in the BBC One show Casualty, the 2008 film Off Season and a number of television commercials, including one for Kingsmill bread.

Roche played the title role in a new BBC adaptation of Just William, which aired at Christmas 2010.[5] He also appeared in the Sky1 comedy series Little Crackers, as a young Stephen Fry on 20 December 2010. Daniel is also doing the voice over as the character Eric on the BBC programme A Day In The Life Of A 10 Year Old.
