New Order 's 2005album , "Waiting for the Sirens' Call ".It marks the first new release by New Order for
Warner Bros. Records withoutLondon Records and was produced byJohn Leckie , who is notable for his involvement in records such asPink Floyd 's "Dark Side of the Moon ",Radiohead 's "The Bends " andThe Stone Roses ' debut album. As with most New Order releases, the artwork is provided byPeter Saville and appears to be a reference to the cover ofKraftwerk 's "Autobahn".Reviews for the song have been mixed;
Pitchfork Media rated it 3/5, stating "This is a tough call to make, because New Order are often at their best when they're impossibly aloof, but there's a fine line between effortless and tuneless, and "Krafty" isn't the former." When reviewed on theBBC Radio show Roundtable, one reviewer rated it 5/10, another 6/10 and the other 7/10."Krafty" was released on
7 March 2005 in the UK and in lieu ofB-side s there are a plethora of remixes of the A-side. A US version was released3 May 2005 .The video, directed by
Johan Renck , who also directed the video for "Crystal", appears to be set inSweden and depicts two teenage lovers. The video shares a similar plot line with theBran Van 3000 video for "Astounded" and the kent video for "Kärleken väntar".The track reached #26 in the
Republic of Ireland in its week of release, and peaked at #8 in theUnited Kingdom . In July 2005, it hit #2 on theHot Dance Music/Club Play chart.Upon the release of the Xbox 360, this song along with a few other samples, were written on the hardrives of premium package 360s for use with the integrated music player. It was also included as part of the soundtrack of the game
Project Gotham Racing 3 .The song is used in an advertisement by
Telenor in Serbia. It was shot in the municipality ofBelgrade New Belgrade .Track listings
