Walter Scammel was a medieval Bishop of Salisbury.

Life

He was archdeacon of Berkshire in the diocese of Salisbury, treasurer of that diocese, and finally Dean of Salisbury. He was elected to the deanery on September 9 1271. [http://british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=34220 Deans of Salisbury] accessed on October 30, 2007]

He was elected bishop about July 12 1284 and consecrated on October 22 1284.Powicke "Handbook of British Chronology" p. 251] He was enthroned at Salisbury Cathedral on January 4 1285.
