Filipe Gui Paradela Maciel da Costa (born August 30 1984), usually referred to as Filipe da Costa, is an exciting Portuguese footballer who plays at offensive midfielder, or more commonly referred, the number 10 position, he can also play as a left or right winger as well as a central midfielder. He is known better for his passing skills - assists, dribling and for his powerful shots.

Da Costa has grown for football in Benfica´s youth academy where he played and developed there for 9 years. He transferred then to Sp. Braga ( at the age of 17 years old ) where he started his Professional career and then moved to Italy´s Reggiana. He then went to Greece and had a three year stay at Ionikos, Greek first league, before moving to Elland Road. Da Costa has also had a loan spell at Larissa where he won the Greek Cup title.

Only in the end of October 2007 da Costa finally got his long awaited International clearance to play for Leeds United. The very next game the manager Dennis Wise brought him into the squad where he made his debut for Leeds United in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy . In January 2008, Scottish side Falkirk, from the Scottish Premierleague, tried to sign him however financial difficulties halted the move. A long time injured period and sucessives reocurrencies hold him from the pitch and in May he asks for his contract to be cancelled by mutual consent. He got back to Portugal, where, at last, could solve properly his injury issue.

In the summer of 2008 Filipe da Costa signed for the current Bulgarian champions, CSKA Sofia. His International Certificate came in late September and he made his formal first team debut in October 4th against Virhen.
