Pitch cylinder

A pitch cylinder is the imaginary cylinder in a spur or helical gear that rolls without slipping on a pitch plane or pitch cylinder of another gear. ["ANSI/AGMA 1012-G05", "Gear Nomenclature, Definition of Terms with Symbols".]
