Moss Point, Mississippi , Denny attended the common schools and Roanoke College,Salem, Virginia .He was graduated from the law department of theUniversity of Mississippi at Oxford in 1874.He was admitted to the bar and commenced practice inPascagoula, Mississippi .He served as clerk of the circuit and chancery courts ofJackson County, Mississippi , from November 1883 untilJanuary 1 ,1895 .He served as delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1890.Denny was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-fourth Congress (
March 4 ,1895 -March 3 ,1897 ).He was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1896. Joined the Republican Party in 1896.He resumed the practice of law atPascagoula, Mississippi , and for fifteen years was legal adviser to the Jackson County Board of Supervisors.He died in PascagoulaNovember 5 ,1926 .He was interred in Machpelah Cemetery.References
