Location of Mirror in Alberta

Mirror is a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada within Lacombe County.[1] It is located at the junction of Highway 50 and Highway 21, approximately 42 km (26 mi) east of Lacombe.

It was named for The Daily Mirror of London, England.[citation needed]

Originally founded in 1870, Mirror incorporated as a village on July 12, 1912 and remained a village until January 1, 2004, when it dissolved to become a hamlet under the jurisdiction of Lacombe County.[2]

Demographics

The population of Mirror according to Lacombe County's 2008 municipal census is 432.[3]

Amenities

The Mirror & District Museum[4] is located in the community. Other amenities include a public library and a school. Buffalo Lake is located east of the community.
