Koryfi or Korifi (Greek: Κορυφή meaning pointy), older forms:, -o -on(Greek: also with the a accented is a Greek settlement located about 4 km southeast of Amaliada, . Koryfi is connected with the road linking with Amaliada. The GR-9 (Patras - Pyrgos - Kyparissia is about 10 and 16 km to the west. Koryfi had a 2001 population of was 276 for the village and 301 for the municipal district. Koryfi is also in the municipal district and the municipality of Iardanos.

Population

Geography

Koryfi is situated in a mountains area, its ranges stretches from Katakolo to Foloi. The farmlands are within the valley areas, they are predominantly made up of groves, the remainder are forested with pines, firs, spruces and cypresses.

Information

Koryfi has approximately 10 km of paved roads and 15 to 20 km of gravel roads. Koryfi also has approximately 10 km of hydro lines as well as phone lines.

Houses were stone-built until the 1950s and did not surpass modern-style homes until the 1980s. It was linked with pavement in the 1980s. Most of the homes are abandoned today.

After World War II and the Greek Civil War, much of the population left for larger towns and cities especially the nearby Patras. The population remained steady since the mid to late 20th century.

Economy

Its main production are olives and cattle, along with some fruits and vegetables. The majority of the population are based in other businesses as well as agriculture.

Koryfi has a school, a church, and a square ("plateia"). Its nearest lyceum (middle school), a nearest school gymnasium (secondary school) are in Tragano, its nearest hospital is in Amaliada.
