Pavlos Giannakopoulos (born 1933) is a Greek businessman.

Along with his brother Thanassis Giannakopoulos, he's the co-owner of pharmaceutical corporation Vianex, which was originally founded in 1924 by their father Dimitrios Giannakopoulos as a small local import and distribution firm. Vianex currently manufactures and markets, in Greece and elsewhere, a variety of products, in collaboration with leading international firms [ [http://www.vianex.gr/htmlsite/operations.asp?id=11 Vianex website] ] . Its 2006 turnover was 249.7 million in 2005. [ [http://www.rx-alliance.com/9?navId=13&navItem=19 rxalliance - Vianex ] ]

Panathinaikos

Since 1987, the Giannakopoulos brothers own Panathinaikos' basketball, volleyball and all amateur sports teams, from athletics to water polo. Their involvement with the club brought Panathinaikos' basketball team their greatest successes, in both domestic and European competitions. As of 2007, Panathinaikos has won 9 out of the last 10 Greek Basketball Championships (excluding 2001-02), and the European Championship in 1996, 2000, 2002, and 2007. [Panathinaikos basketball in Wikipedia] The club, during that time, has featured some of the best players of Greece, along with players from abroad, such as ex-NBAers Byron Scott, Dominique Wilkins, or European stars such as Dejan Bodiroga.
