Barzanji Kurds

Barzanji is name of a Kurdish clan around Slemani in Iraqi Kurdistan.A notable personality from this family was Sheikh Mahmud Barzanji who founded a short-lived Kingdom of Kurdistan.

Barzanjis should not be confused with "Barzanis" who reside further northwest around Arbil.
