"Murdochella superlata" is a species of minute wentletrap, a sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk or micromollusk in the family Epitoniidae, commonly known as wentletraps.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the northern tip of the North Island of New Zealand

Habitat

This wentletrap is found at depths of about 140 m.

hell description

The shell is very small, openly clathrate, sculptured with prominent, rather widely spaced, thin, flexuous, axial lamellae, crossed by two weak, spiral cords, and on the upper base there is a third spiral, in the form of a massive smooth keel.

Height is up to 4.4 mm, and width 1.3 mm.
