The Magpie Shrike (Urolestes melanoleucus), also known as the African Long-tailed Shrike, is a species of bird in the Laniidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Urolestes.[citation needed] It is found in Angola, Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Its natural habitats are dry savanna, moist savanna, and subtropical or tropical dry shrubland.
