Aurelio Luini

Aurelio Luini

Aurelio Luini (c. 1530 - c. 1592) was an Italian painter from Milan, the son of Bernardino Luini. A representant of late Lombard Mannerism, he was a friend of Gian Paolo Lomazzo.

Together with his brothers, he inherited from his father the commission for the fresco decoration of San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore in Milan. His other works include a "Pietà" in San Barnaba, frescoes at Santa Maria di Campagna at Pallanza, near Verbania (together with Carlo Urbino), frescoes for San Vincenzo alle Monache (now in the Pinacoteca di Brera), a "San Tecla" for the Milan Cathedral and a "Madonna between Sts. Roch and Sebastian" for Tortona cathedral.
