Born in Paris, France, 1966, Jean-Christophe Jeauffre [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1899494/] , after a master-degree in Literature in 1988, graduated from the Conservatoire of Cinema of Paris in 1989.

He joined the French Navy for two years, from 1990 to 1991 on Aircraft-carrier Foch during the Lebanon war and was in charge of the ship’s Television production unit where he made his first videos and documentaries for the Navy.

In 1991, he founded the nonprofit Jules Verne Adventures organization [http://www.julesvernefestival] , in Paris, with Jacques Cousteau Jacques Cousteau, an organization dedicated to Exploration, filmmaking and education. It is based at the Prince Albert I of Monaco prestigious Foundation [http://princealbertfoundation.org/] , of the Oceanic Institute in Paris.

He founded a production unit to create new adventure & exploration programs for the Festival and television broadcasts.

The Jules Verne Film Festival is now the most important Adventure & Discovery film festival in the world, and based at the Le Grand Rex Le Grand Rex, the largest theatre in Europe, attracting every year more than 48,000 attendees during the 6 day event.

His passion for exploration and the Oceans led him to lead scientific expeditions and to create a new concept of documentaries called “Action-documentaries“, involving part real exploration and drama contents, filming under the sea with whales and unveiling lost civilizations in the Amazon forests… He has been a member of the prestigious Explorers Club Explorers Club, since 1999.

From 1999 to 2006, he has written, directed and produced several films for television:

Devil’s Island – Journey into Jungle Alcatraz

Red and White –Gone with the West, and the acclaimed 5 months expeditions of the Atlantic, on board the tall ship Belem, including the full length documentary productions of:

100 Years Under the Seas – Shipwrecks of the Caribbean,

Amazon Trek – In Search of Vanishing Secrets,

Whales of Atlantis – In Search of Moby Dick,

Five Weeks On The Sea – the Jules Verne Expedition,

And Tall Ship of the 3rd Millennium.

He has published two books based on the expeditions.

In 2006 he produced Explorers – From the Titanic to the Moon [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0871860/] , starring James Cameron James Cameron and veteran astronaut of the first Moon Landing, Buzz Aldrin Buzz Aldrin. All his films are now being distributed in the US and voiced over by international movie stars such as Christopher Lee Christopher Lee(Lord of the Rings, Star Wars) and Ernest Borgnine Ernest Borgnine (The Wild Bunch, Gattaca)

In 2006 he created the first American Jules Verne Adventures, based in Los Angeles it was launched at the Shrine Auditorium Shrine Auditorium, this first American edition of the Jules Verne Adventure Film Festival honored on stage, George Lucas George Lucas, Harrison Ford Harrison Ford, Dr. Jane Goodall Jane Goodall, James Cameron James Cameron and Buzz Aldrin Buzz Aldrin, with 6,000 attendees.

He is now preparing the second edition of this worldwide famous event, to be presented in California every year.

As filmmaker, explorer, Jean-Christophe Jeauffre is now writing and producing his biggest “Action-Documentary“ to be shot in India at a major underwater site, never explored or filmed before.

He is also producing a series of underwater documentaries.

Jean-Christophe Jeauffre is now recognized as the creator of an entirely new concept of educational filmmaking and exploration, attracting the increasing interest of the filmmaking community.
