Shirley Webb

Shirley Webb (born 28 September 1981), from Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, England, is a Scottish hammer thrower. She is the daughter of Andrew Webb, a Scottish international hurdler who competed at the Commonwealth Games. She formerly represented England.

Her personal best throw is 67.58 metres, achieved in July 2005 in Loughborough. This is the Scottish record, and places her second on the British outdoor all-time list, behind Lorraine Shaw. [ [http://www.gbrathletics.com/uk/wf99.htm UK All-Time Lists: Women - Throws] - GBR Athletics]

Shirley is part of the new Gladiators TV show as Battleaxe, and also holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh. [ [http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/entertainment/newsid_7342000/7342314.stm Gladiators: Meet the new warriors] - BBC - Newsbeat]

She is also the god daughter of John Anderson (the legendry ref and trainer of the Gladiators) who trained both her father and Shirley also.
