LOCATION

Hollow Rock Camp Ground is locatedjust west of the Ohio River on CountyRoad 51 in Toronto, Ohio. Hollow Rocksits nestled between two hills in a lush green valley aside Big Creek.

HISTORY

Hollow Rock Camp Ground has been a host to several different denominations for camp meetings. Articles and memorabilia located in the history room at Hollow Rock date back to 1838.

Rev. J.M. Bray, pastor of the nearby Sugargrove church, held the first camp meeting at Hollow Rock Camp Ground with the Methodist Episcopal Church.

The Methodist Church continued to hold camp meetings at Hollow Rock until 1875 when it was opened up to other denominations and officially was listed as interdenominational.

The camp ground is maintained throughout the year by a caregiver who lives on the grounds.

EVENTS

Hollow Rock Camp Meeting is held annually in July at the camp ground.
