(Temminck, 1822)The Dusky-throated Hermit (Phaethornis squalidus) is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is endemic to humid Atlantic Forest in south-eastern Brazil. It formerly included the Streak-throated Hermit as a subspecies. A small hermit with a total length of approximately 9 cm, it has pale buff underparts and dark streaks on the throat.
