Key Bible Club

Key Bible Club

The Key Bible Club is an outreach program for public elementary schools. It teaches the Christian Bible to children who share a Christian background. Children have to join at the beginning of the school year but may resign at any time. Bible activities include story telling, interactive games, quizzes about Bible facts, and prayer.

While the Mike Harris government thought about eliminating Key Bible Club, it eventually was kept in the Grand Erie District School Board and many other school boards in the province of Ontario. All these factors makes the program similar to a Sunday school for school-aged children. Although mostly smaller children attend the Friday afternoon sessions, there has been the occasional older student that is interested in learning about the Bible and its stories like David and Goliath and the birth of Jesus Christ. At the end of the session, a prayer is lead by the teacher wishing her students a safe and happy weekend.
